I have the account. Now I don't know where to go with it. Randy posted a twitter site for teachers. Do I dive in? Do I add the members of this class? I think I'm experiencing techno freeze (aka fear) on this one.
I felt the same way. Posted my skepticism (being a skeptic was what I was doing at the time) and someone suggested thinking of Twitter as a 140 character teaching lounge. Add students in this class as well as the people Eric suggested. Many of them seem to be posting constantly. I lurked for a day after posting my first tweet, realized there was little rhyme or reason to the process, and am now trying to embrace the chaos. Good luck!
Hey Patti, post the link to your Twitter username on the webtools 09 twitter page, then we can all see your profile and sign up to follow you. Or you can click on the names that are already up on that page and ask to follow us. Once you follow someone, you can also click on their followers if you want to follow them yourself.
Your best bet is to start adding students from this class and those that I suggested. Then, start looking at who they are following. Before you know it, you will have a vibrant (and hopefully useful) network!
I teach high school chemistry, biology, and physical science to home educated students. My capstone project was based on inquiry laboratory methods in the chemistry classroom. I'm excited to be presenting in a couple of weeks to finish the MSSE program. I have loved the experience and think this course will launch me into new adventures as a teacher researcher.
